Background

The Photo Adventures Camera Club began meeting in May of 2003.  The group was formed by photographers primarily interested in taking field trips and sharing their work.  Members include beginners wanting to learn as well as very experienced photographers willing to share information, techniques and critiques.

The club format, which is still evolving, is informal.  Members sit around a table and are all given an opportunity to show their latest work, ask questions, show their equipment, discuss techniques, propose field trips, and tell photography-related stories.  The second meeting of the month is devoted to slide shows on the topic for that month.

The Club strives to hold a field trip every month and several impromptu trips usually result from interaction among members.  Members learn from one another, which is one of the Club's objectives.

Our Club is interested in photography in all its forms, including slides, prints, and digital images.  Our members produce work from traditional wet darkrooms as well as computers.  There are even a few view camera owners among the membership.  Interest in subject matter varies widely and one never knows what they'll see at a meeting.
